CSSEdit

The BEST CSS Editing Software - EVER
It’s not often that I gush, OK, well maybe more often than others but it’s not often that I gush THIS much, OK? I like many other people have used the standard web dev tools to code virtually everything from HTML to JavaScript - including CSS. Of course, like everyone else I thought that the standard “oh, we’ll change your CSS tags to different colors” was helpful when coding. But man, what a pain in the toushe when it came to actually SEEING the changes we were going to make. And how many of us have gone flipping through manuals to find out if we could apply an attribute to some style or class we were working on. Well my friend, wonder about those things NO more! CSSEdit is here and it is THE best CSS development tool EVER - and I mean EVER.

The feature set on this software is extensive, most importantly, the benefits of using it are outrageous!
You can see from the screen that there is a three panel layout. The left contains the names of all your styles, classes, etc. The center is the actual CSS code for the styles. If you click on a style (like I have) you can see the code highlighted. The right pane contains all the attributes you can apply to a style in a GUI! The amazing part is that it helps you think of ways to apply the styles in a manner you may not have thought of. It’s easy to apply, easy to undo. AND you see all of the options available. Totally *tubular*.
But wait, we aren’t done yet pilgrim. Not even close!

In addition to the fabulous first screen (seen in the background here) you also get an awesome preview mode as well! Right, exactly it, this makes the circle complete! So, you change the CSS and in your open preview you see what it looks like! But that isn’t even the coolest yet!
The best part of the preview is the ability to choose the file - including an online web page! - you want to see your modifications applied on. You can choose to see multiple style sheets applied, over-ride existing style sheets. And, if you want to, you can even download the style sheet applied on a live web site and see what would happen if you made changes. NOTE: You cannot make changes to a live website unless you are the administrator, you can only view what it would be like if you did modify the CSS. Of course, the other cool part is you can see the CSS for other sites and get a look into what other great developers are doing. It’s very, very cool. But wait - there’s more!
Yes, the last item I’ll chat about (and one I also like a lot) is the X-ray mode. It’s as simple as it seems. You click on an item in the web page and CSSEdit does an x-ray of the code and shows you what styles are applied to it in the status bar. It is SO helpful and thus it is SO COOL!
So, hats off to the folks at MacRabbit (LINK: http://macrabbit.com/cssedit/) for such amazing software! I’d say it was the best $29.95 I had ever spent, but I was a lucky purchaser of the MacHeist bundle that had CSSEdit in it (and that’s how I found out about it) so I didn’t pay full retail - but I would in a New York minute. If you don’t have it and you’re a web dev/designer on a Mac, get it now!
Disk Inventory X
Have you ever wondered where all your disk space has gone? Wondered what types of files use the most disk space? Wondered if there was an application that could show you their size, and where they were? Wonder no more! Now Disk Inventory X is here to answer all those questions - and aren’t you glad about that!
Disk Inventory X is a wonderfully easy to use application that does everything that I described above and it’s so simple even *I* can use it! When you launch the app, you see the screen below.

Select the disk you want to inventory (or folder) then click the Open Volume button. Away you go! It’s pretty fast (it did my 160 gig primary drive on my Core2Duo MacBook in about 20 minute) and it gives you a great display of what your drive looks like.
Great app, easy to use, distributed under the GPL. Donations happily accepted! Yah. It ROCKS.
Disk Inventory X can be found here.
NAJA King
DUDE!
OK. So, Have to tell you about this new product I just got called the NAJA King. (see picture)
The Naja King (part of the NAJA line from thoughtout.biz) is a killer cool device that is a killer cool iPhone/iPod touch holder or stand that you can configure all kinds of ways. In fact, I used it this morning with my iPhone so that I could play the video of my warm up exercises.
How? Easy. This thing is TOTALLY flexible, so I created a nice wide base because I was putting it on my ironing board in the bedroom. Needed stability. BUT, because it's so configurable I also was able to make a nice long neck on it too, so I got the hight up there pretty well too.
I was excited when I saw this device because I already have the PED3 (sitting right here on my desk next to me) and I love the wide base and the rotating head where you put the iPhone/iPod Touch. The NAJA King I think is even cooler though because you can configure it for almost anywhere, adjust height. I mean, it's REALLY cool. I haven't tried this yet, but you can even loop it around you neck and prop it on your chest so you can watch your iPhone/iPod Touch on the train without having to hold it up the whole time. Damn - come to think of it, I could do that in bed too. SWEET!
OK. So that's it. Check it out here: thoughtout.biz. I'm telling you, you're gonna want one!
